Getting to Know God Through Your Pain

No one lives a life without pain! We will struggle with life’s unpredictables and those that we can naturally expect. Even though we know that life will hurt, we are never truly prepared of how pain unfolds. Maybe that’s the part that scare us the most… the story behind it all.

The one constant that we can hold on to is knowing that God will never leave us. No matter how much we’re hurting, struggling, even drowning in life, God is there! God’s presence does not mean that our problems and hurts will disappear. We don’t have to tackle them alone. All we need to do is call on God through prayer to help us. His help may look like the problem being solved. Or help may look like the situation getting better or it’s not as intense as it was.

Oftentimes, God’s assistance changes us and our perception of the problem is not like it used to be. Ultimately, our growth through our trials and tribulations helps us with the next round of problems and/or allows us to assist someone else through their spell of woes.

When we are hurting, we should not think that no one else can relate to us and that everyone has everything going well for them. That is a selfish way to think. We can’t look at someone and determine from an observation that their life is great. Having materialistic things is not a sign that someone’s life is better. However, we often judge others based on what we see! Money, fame, and success don’t exempt us from having problems. And every problem can’t be answered with money, education or stardom.

We all need God to help us with our problems. He is the only one that can truly level the playing fields making it equal. Try talking to him today. Problems usually don’t occur overnight. They’ve been brewing and stewing well before they arrive at our front door. Watch God show up and work things out over time.

Let’s pray:

Heavenly Father, I need your help! I am stuggling so much that it hurts me physically, mentally, and emotionally. I don’t know what to do. Please send me who I need or what I need to make it each step of the way. I’m counting on you. Thank you Father, and I love you!

In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Selah.
