Getting to know God through fellowship is really just gathering with family, friends and even people that you may not really know and having shared experiences. This may be very easy for those that have very outgoing personalities and love to be in social atmospheres. However, for those that find it challenging to engage in conversations with others, there are alternatives. The internet has given introverts a voice without having to feel overwhelmed. And for those that may not be tech savvy, let’s not forget the all too forgotten, letter in the mail!
How does a shared experience look like? It looks like you starting an ordinary coversation which transforms into your excitement about some extraordinary thing that has happened to you and how thankful you are to God for the experience. Or it may be you sharing a difficult time that you needed help and found God being your only true friend. No, you do not have to tell everyone your “business.” There are ways to summarize your experiences without the nitty, gritty details. Remember, the point is to get all involved knowing more about God, not to drown them with your sorrows or overwhelm them with your fascinating life. God, first!
Proverbs 27:17 Iron sharpens iron and one man sharpens another. (Summary: We should encourage and correct one another)
Let’s pray:
Father God, I come to you as humble as I know how acknowledging you as my Creator. You are so wonderful and magnificient in all of your ways. Thank you for taking such good care of me. I am living each day needing and depending on you for help in all areas of my life. Continue to help me as I am getting to know more about you. Help me to fellowship with others and lead me towards an experience that I can share with others to encourage and help them out in some way. I trust that you will lead me through my interactions with others. I love you, Daddy!
Thy will be done.
Amen and Selah.
